Flexibility classes at kailo

A comprehensive scientific approach to stretching

This isn’t about touching your toes or pushing yourself into a perfect shape. It's quite the opposite. At Kailo we offer special flexibility classes designed to enhance flexibility, improve the health of myofascial tissues, and promote overall well-being. Rooted in the science of stretching, our guidance comes from an understanding of the body as a holistic system.

Why flexibility?

Our bodies remember. How we sit, how we move, how we carry our tension. Over time, those patterns can make us feel stuck. Our flexibility classes are rooted in the belief that stretching can be both effective and deeply healing of the body. Rather than pushing into discomfort or forcing range of motion, we guide you to explore mild to moderate sensations—just enough to invite openness without overwhelm. We understand that true flexibility isn't just about muscles—it's about the nervous system, breath, and how we relate to sensation. That’s why we emphasize slow, controlled movements that allow your body to gradually adapt, without triggering tension or resistance. You’ll be encouraged to listen inward, honour your limits, and move with awareness.

What are these flexibility classes about?

It’s not your usual yoga session. But it’s not not yoga either. This class blends mindful movement and science-based stretching. We work with fascia, joints and muscles using a mix of dynamic and static techniques. Stretches are held for shorter periods, not like you might know it from Yin yoga where poses are held for several minutes. We don’t stay forever in one pose, and we never push into pain. It’s a practice for building awareness and a feeling of safety in the shapes.

Our approach at kailo

This practice draws inspiration from Chinese Taoist philosophy, which centers on balance and harmony. This philosophy teaches that balance is achieved by exploring and understanding the spectrum of opposing qualities, such as yin and yang. Our emphasis is on a controlled, slow stretching practice, allowing the nervous system to adjust to the increase in tissue length gradually. This approach helps to avoid triggering the body’s fight-or-flight response, which can occur with excessive discomfort.

Is this class for you?

If you feel stiff or restricted. If you’re longing to move with more ease. Or if you’ve ever been told you’re “not flexible enough for yoga” (which, for the record, isn’t a thing) then yes, this class is for you. These sessions are designed to meet you where you are. Whether you’re just beginning your journey with stretching, or you already consider yourself quite flexible and want to deepen your practice with more mindfulness, depth or technique, you’ll find thoughtful guidance and variations to support every body.

Hvad du kan forvente

We begin with a warm-up to prepare the body. From there, we move into a full-body sequence or focus on a specific area, like hips or shoulders. Some stretches are dynamic. Some are still. Most are held just long enough to feel into them, never long enough to force anything. Each session feels a little different, because you’re different each time you come.

The kailo yoga experience

Our studio is soft, calm and welcoming. There’s room to move. Room to ask questions. Room for diversity. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been training for years, we invite you to explore our space. Flexibility training is part of our broader vision to support sustainable movement. Our aim is to support the body long-term and cultivate a practice that stays kind and follows the latest science.
