MOM/BABY YOGA

With Mathilde Milan

Mathilde speaks english & danish,
but as an
international studio
we guide the classes in english

This course is designed to nurture your mind and body as a new mother. It’s about getting out of your head and into your body, to connect to your breath and share your experience with other new mums while being with your baby in a safe and casual setting.

Once you have given birth it can be easy to lose the connection with yourself as well as the outside world. Becoming a mother is one of the biggest transformations in your life, the hormones and emotions are running wild, many women can feel disheartened and confused about the physical, mental and emotional effects that childbirth can have on you.

We will use movement, breath and relaxation to allow you to reconnect with your body after pregnancy and birth. These yoga classes are not your intense strengthening classes as such, looking to get you back into your pre-pregnancy jeans in 3 weeks. We will safely strengthen your body and gently work the muscles of your core, your lower back and the pelvic floor. However there is so much more to gain from the course.
The classes are mainly focused around you, therefore you are free to choose whether you bring your child or come alone. If your baby is awake, we will invite her or him to join the practice as well, whenever possible as a fun activity for the both of you. However it doesn’t matter if your baby is awake or asleep during the class, or if you need a break to breastfeed - our spacious studio & cozy lounge got you covered.

The classes will also have a focus on mothering you as a mother, which means that there will be a compassion and self-care practice every time we meet. The will vary from time to time, and can either be journal exercises, gentle pressure and warm hands being placed on you, self-massage, and in one of the classes the teacher will use a rebozo scarf to ground and relax your whole system. The aim of this compassion-practice is to bring you in to the parasympathetic nervous system, and support you the best way we can in nurturing yourself as a new mother

We welcome you in any way you are, maybe you are still in your PJs by the time you manage to get out of the house - and that’s okay. We’ll be here waiting for you with biscuits and tea available!

FACILITATOR

Mathilde first found her love for yoga while backpacking through India in 2008 and has returned many times since as both a student and teacher to pursue her passion for the practice and the philosophy that lies behind it.

In 2014 Mathilde did her first yoga teacher training and in 2017 she specialized in prenatal yoga. Other than being a yoga teacher Mathilde is trained as a doula, and supports women and their families before, during and after the birth,

Mathildes prenatal and mum/baby classes are suited for women in all stages of their journey in motherhood. The focus will be on creating a connection between breath, movement, body and mind. All of this is with the aim to create a deeper connection to yourself and your baby, and to help you feel empowered in your motherhood.
